"I thought the course was a fabulous experience for me and every day, I dragged myself our to bed for it because it was that good! I felt it gave me something to wake up to and enjoyed every day of it. Cheryl and Natalie, I thought were brilliant all the way through the program and pushed us every day and they were really good support for me and the group."

Redundancy, whether voluntary or otherwise, is becoming a reality of life in the ‘noughties’ and it can be a difficult time, full of uncertainty and worry. But it can also be the trigger for positive change opening up new opportunities for you, opportunities that you may not have considered while in the comfort zone of regular employment.

In a recent Yellow Brick Road survey, a high percentage of respondents confirmed that looking back, being made redundant was actually a positive time and they have benefited from the experience. Even those who loved the job they were in agreement that the enforced change that redundancy brought, made them re-evaluate their aims and ambitions and what they really wanted from their working life. Many used the experience as an opportunity to make significant career changes, often retraining or changing their job entirely.

It’s important to know though, that help is there. Yellow Brick Road can provide support in a number of ways, such as skills training, personal development and coaching, in order to help you identify your goals and new opportunities, plus learning to recognise your achievements and keep your confidence levels up. We’re also able to back up our training and development by providing longer term support and mentoring to help you maintain focus as you continue your journey.

But our training continues further than the individual as we also work with companies who are in the unfortunate position of having to restructure their workforce. At such an unsettling time, even those employees whose jobs may be safe can find themselves in a difficult situation and it can be an emotional, anxious experience. Yellow Brick Road Training is able to provide structured programs for companies who are entering a period of change, ensuring all those involved can approach the change in a positive way, with a positive outcome.
